At least two people woke up Wednesday on their way to becoming millionaires. Someone bought a winning ticket for therecord $370 million Mega Millions jackpot in Dalton, Ga., and another winning ticket was sold in Cape May County, N.J.,lottery representatives in the two states said early Wednesday.

There could be more winners, too - California's results were slowed early Wednesday by the high volume of sales. CaliforniaLottery spokesman Rob McAndrews said it would likely be midmorning before he knows for sure. The other ninestates involved in the lottery struck out, said Mardele Cohen, spokeswoman for the Ohio Lottery, which compiles all thestates' information.
The winning numbers were: 16-22-29-39-42, with the Mega Ball 20.
The odds of hitting it: about 1 in 176 million.

Georgia Lottery Corp. Spokesman J.B. Landroche said a winning ticket was sold at Favorite Market in Dalton. New JerseyLottery spokesman Dominick DeMarco said officials in his state were still trying to pinpoint the store there.

Tuesday night's drawing was held in New York's Times Square in ABC's television studio rather than Atlanta after brisk salespushed what had been an estimated $355 million jackpot estimate to a record $370 million.

Even though the temperature was just 16 degrees, a handful of hopefuls showed up in Times Square to watch the drawing.

Millions of others had lined up at lottery agents in the 12 states to buy tickets Tuesday. New Yorkers bought more than 1million tickets an hour, said Robert McLaughlin, the state's lottery director. Virginia retailers sold about 8,550 tickets perminute.

New York construction worker Andelko Kalinic had an idea of what he would do if his Mega Millions ticket paid off.

"Go to the moon," he said. "Why not?"

Some lottery hopefuls in Ohio never had a chance. Ohio's lottery ticket system went down statewide at about 10:20 p.m., 25minutes before the deadline, Cohen said. The cause hadn't yet been determined.

"For those people who wanted to make a wager and didn't get a chance, we're very, very sorry," she said.

The largest previous multistate lottery jackpot was $365 million in 2006, when eight workers at a Nebraska meat processingplant hit the Powerball lotto. The Big Game lotto, the forerunner of Mega Millions, paid out a $363 million jackpot in2000.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York,Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington state.

Associated Press Writers Karen Matthews in New York; Lisa Cornwell in Cincinnati; Larry O'Dell in Richmond, Va.; andSolvej Schou in Los Angeles contributed to this story.

Viewpoint - That is a huge jackpot for those lucky winners. I can't even imagine what they are experiencing right now. Theymust be in total shock!

And you thought that so-called Prince was ridiculous. Now, OJ Simpson is the latest member of the human male species tothrow his hat - and sperm - into the paternity ring in the Anna Nicole Smith case. Norm Pardo, a videographer whochronicled Simpson's movements for five years, tells Page Six that the double-murder acquittee told him that he "knewAnna Nicole pretty well," and - prepare for gross-out - that he had "slow-moving sperm," and as a result might be thefather. Actually, says Pardo, OJ doesn't really want his possible paternity exposed, because, he says, "I don't want FredGoldman trying to seize her money - or the baby herself." Simpson and Smith appeared together in "Naked Gun 33 1/3The Final Insult."

Viewpoint - This is hilarious. Seriously I think we might be able to tell if OJ is the father. Can you imagine the media circus ifhe turned out to be the father?

Senator Alfonse D'Amato Takes Leadership Position with the Poker
Players Alliance

Poker Aficionado and former U.S. Senator to Lead Efforts to Protect
One of America's Pastimes

Washington D.C.(March 5, 2007) - The Poker Players Alliance (PPA), a
grassroots organization of more than 160,000 poker enthusiasts,
announced today that former United States Senator Alfonse D'Amato has joined
the PPA to serve as Chairman of the Board and help lead efforts in
Washington D.C. to protect the game of poker.

"I have had a passion for poker since my childhood, and for politics
almost as long. This new position will allow me to fuse these passions
and help establish sensible policy that allows Americans to enjoy the
great game of poker in the venue of their choosing," said Alfonse
D'Amato, the new Chairman of the Poker Players Alliance.

"We are thrilled to have Senator D'Amato take up our cause to promote
and protect the game played by millions of Americans. His enthusiasm,
tenacity and political astuteness will bolster the influence of the PPA
and help earn poker a much deserved exemption from the recent online
gaming law," said Michael Bolcerek, president of the PPA. "For the past
18 months Linda Johnson, the First Lady of Poker, skillfully lead our
organization as Chairwoman, today the First Senator of Poker will lead
the charge."

It is estimated that more than 23 million Americans enjoyed playing
poker on the Internet in 2006. Yet, the recent government crackdown on
Internet gaming has swept poker into its net of prohibition and have made it increasingly difficult for poker players to enjoy thisgreat form of entertainment on the Internet. The Poker Players Alliance will be working with Congress to provide a skillgame exemption for poker and pave the way for eventual regulation and taxation of the industry in the United States.

"Prohibitions don't work, they only create unintended consequences.
The American people know this and we are going to make sure Congress
knows it too," said Senator D'Amato. "We need common sense regulation of Internet poker. Prohibition will only drive theindustry underground and strip away any protections for children and services for problem
gamblers."

The Poker Players Alliance was formed in 2005 to protect the right of
poker players to enjoy the great American tradition of poker in the
venue of their choice, and Linda Johnson was critical in the
organization's development. "I would like to personally thank Linda Johnson for her service to the PPA as its firstChairwoman, and in her continued service as a board member as we take the organization to its next level," stated Bolcerek.
