The world's tallest man, whose search for a bride covered the world, ended up marrying a woman from his home town nearlyhalf his age and more than two feet shorter, Chinese media reported on Wednesday.
Bao Xishun, 56, a 2.36-metre (7-ft, 9-inch) herdsman listed by Guinness World Records as the tallest living man, married a29-year-old saleswoman, the Beijing News said. Both come from Chifeng in Inner Mongolia.
"After sending out marriage advertisements across the world and going through a long selection process, the efforts havefinally paid off," the newspaper said.
It was the first wedding for Bao and his bride, Xia Shujuan, a mere 1.68 metres (5 ft 6 inches) tall.
Bao reached his height in a seven-year spurt that began in his teens and which doctors have yet to explain, according toGuinness.
After a career in the army, where he was recruited for a basketball team, he returned to Inner Mongolia. He now herdslivestock and hires himself out for publicity stunts.
In December, Bao saved the lives of two dolphins by reaching deep into their stomachs with his 1.06-metre (42-inch) long armto pull out pieces of plastic, according to Chinese media.

TRIMSPA, the company pimped by Anna Nicole Smith and credited for her spectacular weight loss, is claiming that theirformer spokesmodel used human growth hormone only for its anti-aging properties, even though it was described by ChiefMedical Examiner Joshua Perper as a "longevity/weight reducing medication."
In a statement to TMZ, TRIMPSA claims they spoke with Howard K. Stern yesterday, who told them, "Smith took humangrowth hormone since 1999 or 2000," but added that the hormone was used for its anti-aging properties -- not itsslimming effects -- which are said to influence the metabolism of proteins, carbs and lipids.
In addition to Anna's fondness for HGH, she also indulged in another weight loss product -- Slim-Fast.
