ATHENS, May 21 (Reuters) - Greek police on Monday said they would fire paintball pellets containing different colours toidentify any rioting fans during Wednesday's Champions League final between Liverpool and AC Milan.
Authorities have drawn up extensive security plans for the biggest soccer match of the season to avoid any clashes betweenEnglish and Italian fans.
"The paintball guns will be one of the weapons the riot police will use in case of fan clashes," police spokesman PanagiotisStathis told Reuters.
"The have the double aim of stopping trouble because they are quite painful as well as marking violent fans," he said.
Any fan covered with paint from a police gun, and not arrested immediatly, could then be easily identified and detained bypolice later.
Stathis said the pellets would not be used in the case of crowd trouble inside the Olympic stadium and could only be used inlarge open spaces such as squares and major roads.
Greece expects about 50,000 Italian and English fans, many of them without tickets, for the final in Athens.
This will be the first time such weapons will be used by Greek security forces.

Scott Stapp, the former lead singer of platinum rock band Creed, was arrested in Boca Raton, Fla. last night on suspicion ofdomestic assault with intent to commit a felony.
Stapp, who spent the night behind bars in a Palm Beach County jail, is scheduled to appear in court this morning, where ajudge will set bond.
At this point, no victim has been identified.
The 33-year-old rocker was married to Miss New York USA 2004 Jaclyn Nesheiwat in February 2006. The couple has a 4-month-old daughter together. Stapp also has a son from a previous marriage.
UPsdemeanor. Now,the state attorney has 30 days to charge the rockstar or reject the case altogether.

This year two additional H.O.R.S.E. events will be added with buyins of $2500 and $5000. Also anothernew poker tournament in the schedule is S.H.O.E. SHOE is another multi game tournament combining Stud,Hold'em, Omaha and Stud 8 all played as limit games. The SHOE event will also maintain the four-game spread structure through thefinal table of that tournament.
Out of all the tournaments at the WSOP, the one that garners the most attention is the Main Event. Last year 8,773 playershanded over $10,000 to enter that tournament.
